Is it Time to Consider Recall Elections for Shorewood Village Board Members ?
As my Dear Old Granny use to say "That Person could Screw Up a One Car Funeral" ............
There is a saying that it "Takes a Village to Raise a Child" --------- But in Shorewood, it takes a Village Board to Screw Up a Streetscaping Project.
The Streetscaping on Oakland Avenue has been mis-managed for so long, it is incomprehensible that one person could be so Inept ---
It appears that only the indifference of the Entire Village Board and Administration can have resulted in the tremendous losses that the Oakland Businesses have suffered from No Parking during business hours --- even when No Work is being done.
Unfortunately, since the Shorewood Elected Officials are in a total state of Ignorance about the Damage They are Causing to the Local Businesses ---
maybe only Recall Election(s) will get Their Attention, and prod them into taking their Responsibilities to the Well Being of the Businesses and Citizens of Shorewood Seriously.
Guy Johnson as President of the Village Board, with his Stellar Show of Lack of Leadership would be a good First Candidate for a Recall Election. Ironically, Mr Johnson has dreams of being elected to the State Legislature --- where he could continue to do nothing, but get paid for it.
Dawn Anderson is on the Community & Business Relations Committee, and a member of the Business Improvement District. These are Committees that can and should be taking an Oversight Look at how the Community is being affected by the Oakland Disaster --- and her membership on them would make her a good candidate for a Recall Election, due to her failure to take her responsibilities seriously.
Ellen Eckman is on the Development & Long Range Planning Committee (Chairperson) and also a member of the Community Development Authority. Too bad she does not use those positions to advocate for common sense on the Oakland Project.
Jeff Hanewall is on the Community & Business Relations Committee. As an architect in his civilian life, one would think he would have some degree of expertise to realize how badly the Oakland Project is being managed.
Margaret Hickey is on the Streets & Buildings Committee (Chairperson), and the Development & Long Range Planning Committee, and also the Community Development Authority. It would probably be hoping too much for her to be too interested in the problems with parking for local businesses, based upon her failure to clear her property of ice and snow this last winter to facilitate a safe walkway in our Pedestrian Community.
Michael Mayer is also on the Streets & Buildings Committee and the Streets and Buildings Committee. His lack of action and concern may be an indicator that he has learned nothing from his time on those committees or the Village Board --- and begs the question of what he has to add to the quality of Shorewood life and government.
Oh and By the Way --- here are the recent pictures of Empty Oakland Avenue -- taken today --- No Parking for the Local Businesses despite No Work being done where No Parking Signs are UP !!!
4400 BLOCK NORTH OAKLAND NOON TIME --- MAYBE WE CAN PUT UP SOME BASKETBALL NETS FOR THE KIDS
MAYBE THIS COULD BE A DRAW TO ATTRACT THE BOWLING CONGRESS TO RELOCATE TO SHOREWOOD --- STREET BOWLING ANYONE ?
IF YOU WANT TO GO TO WALGREENS OR SCHWARTZ'S BETTER BEING DRIVING A UPS TRUCK OR GET A TICKET -- DESPITE NO WORK BEING DONE
SO WHAT DO YOU THINK ? TIME FOR RECALL(S) ? DO YOU THINK THE VILLAGE BOARD EVEN GETS IT ?
