A BORN POET
Not long after I started writing short stories in 1977, I realized our teenage daughter, Sarah, was a natural poet. Almost 33 years later, we're both still writing.
Carnegie Mellon University Press published Sarah's first two poetry books. Now she's working on her third book and will read some of her new poems, and some of her old, at a Pantry Benefit at The Coffee House this Friday.

When driving on I43 or the other freeways in the Milwaukee area, I am amazed at how many Big Rigs are in the left lane.
Sometimes they are tailgating the car in front of them, in an attempt to get the car to move over, at other times, they are doing the speed limit or less.

2010 Shorewood Public Art Event Announced: "Best Seats in the House"
Seeking Milwaukee Area Artists To Participate in Annual Public Art Event - Business Sponsors Also Solicited
The Shorewood Business Improvement District is pleased to announce its public art event for summer 2010 - and invites area artists to apply to participate. The theme for this year's event revolves around a custom-made bench. Artists whose proposals are selected will be paired with a Village business or organization to be their sponsor. Each decorated bench will reside outside a storefront on public display in Shorewood's business district through the duration of the event (June 5-August 15). A public auction will be held at the end of August, when the benches will be auctioned off to benefit the Shorewood Foundation, the event's presenting sponsor. "Best Seats in the House" is being produced by the Shorewood Business Improvement District (BID).

Last Wednesday my bed woke me up just before 4 AM. It's really moving, isn't it! The weather report was for wind and snow overnight. Maybe it's the wind.
