Now is the time for Shorewood to consider the dynamics of urban design and the means for creating potential commercial activity areas.
We want to do more than remain an ordinary community where walking is pleasant and where children can attend good schools.
We not only want to update our commercial districts but create the elements that give us a physical community structure and not one with ever present aggressive car traffic.
We don't want to waste opportunities for providing meaningful public space. Some existing space will be encroached upon because of the need to provide for car storage but we can enhance existing space and even create public space.
Let's look into the opportunities of urban design during this early period of our redevelopment.
Who do we know that can help do this?
