(As the virtual candidate for the Shorewood Village Board, I'm making the following proposal for the establishment of a Community Consolidation Commission; Joe Adam):
I'm proposing the establishment of a Community Consolidation Commission to implement the proposed Community Consolidation ordinance as has been suggested in Mangiamele's posting.
It shall be established as any other Village Board appointed committee and its purpose shall be to consolidate development projects in the interest of developing unified community settings as the larger overall and overriding concepts to be implemented by integrating each project within the the broader scheme.
Any project not approved by the Community Consolidation Commission cannot proceed until its suggestions and directions are followed and approved.
The Community Consolidation Commission will be the first body to approve or disapprove any development proposal and may reject part or the total of any proposal not fitting into a unified community setting concept or may make proposals instead of those presented, and shall do so in the interest of the total community setting or “community base.”
All existing or new community plans shall be considered in developing the design and concept of the overall setting. After all approvals have been obtained, the Community Consolidation Commission (CCC) shall give its final approval or disapproval or suggested changes in the processes.
These commission activities are intended to operate in the community's interest for improving the “community base.”
