1A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant after setting off a burglar alarm as she arrived for work as a cleaning company employee in the 8400 block of North 46th Street at 2:55 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16. After paying her citation, she was released.
2The gas tanks of three cars were punctured at Courtyard by Marriott, 5200 W. Brown Deer Road, one overnight July 16 or 17 and two July 19 or 20. Drill marks were found on the gas tanks and, in one incident, gasoline was spilled all over the lot.
3A man, age and residence not released, was arrested on a warrant and for theft at both Family Dollar and Walgreens, 6554 and 6020 W. Brown Deer Road, between 9:30 and 10:20 a.m. The man took candy bars and shrimp valued at $58 from Family Dollar and then went to Walgreens and took more items, value not available.
4A bicycle valued at $150 was taken from the 9300 block of North Fairy Chasm Lane on Tuesday, July 15, and reported Thursday, July 17.
5Items valued at $985, including three aluminum extension ladders, two step ladders and an electric range, were taken from a garage in the 4800 block of West Dean Road overnight July 17 or 18. Entry was gained through an unlocked service door.
6A car was reported broken into but nothing taken at Signicast, 9000 N. 55th St., at 12:15 a.m. Friday, July 18. Damage to a window was about $200.
7A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving with the added charge of driving drunk with a passenger under 16 after she was seen weaving in traffic in the 6200 block of West Brown Deer Road at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 22. She failed field sobriety tests and had a BAC of 0.16.
8A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance at a relative's house in the 900 block of East Spooner Road at 5:35 p.m. Sunday, July 20. The man, who is not allowed on the property, yelled and swore at police and resisted arrest.
9A Trek bicycle valued at about $700 was taken from a garage Wednesday, July 9, in the 7300 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard and recovered by Bayside police and returned to the owner Monday, July 21.
10Glendale residents, ages not disclosed, were cited for having a "vicious animal" after their pit bull attacked a shiatsu at North Sidney Place and North Dexter Avenue about 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 5. The pit bull was in a fenced-in yard but had dug under that fence and grabbed the smaller dog's neck, causing injury. That dog, which was not on a leash, suffered puncture wounds and was treated for those injuries.
11A 36-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, driving without a valid license and non-registration after he and his pick-up truck were found in a ditch in the 7100 block of North Green Bay Avenue at 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16. His BAC was 0.25.
12An 18-year-old Bayside man was arrested for drunken driving and speeding 55 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 2700 block of West Silver Spring at 3:17 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16. When police tried to stop the car, he sped away but was stopped in the 5600 block of North 44th Street. His BAC was 0.08.
13A Toro lawnmower valued at $400 was taken from an unlocked garage in the 5700 block of North 27th Street July 15 or 16 and reported Thursday, July 17.
14A 2014 Infinity Q50 valued at $55,000 was taken from Infinity North Shore, 1515 West Silver Spring Drive, about 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16. An employee reported the car's keys missing from a service desk. The car was equipped with a tracker and during the next two days, the car was traced to Wauwatosa, the 800 block of West Atkinson Avenue, and finally recovered in the 6600 block of North Bluemound Road, Wauwatosa, at 9:30 a.m. Friday. July 18. A 23-year-old Milwaukee man at that location was arrested on a warrant.
15An $800 Apple iPad and software valued at more than $1,000 were taken from an unlocked van at the Radisson, 7065 N. Port Washington Road, the morning of Friday, July 18.
16A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after she threatened an employee at Sports Authority,5900 N. Port Washington Road, at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 18. The woman saw that an employee was watching her and told that employee, "I'm gonna slap your (expletive) if you call security." Her friend, a 21-year-old Milwaukee woman, was arrested on a Glendale warrant.
17A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of 0.6 grams of marijuana, carrying a concealed weapon, receiving stolen property, a warrant and expired registration in the 5400 block of North Port Washington Road at 11:15 p.m. on Friday, July 18. The man said he bought the gun three years ago after seeing it for sale on Armslist.com and just applied for a conceal carry permit. The gun came back as stolen from Waukesha in 2009.
18Items valued at more than $2,500, including a camera, iPad and computer were taken from the 4800 block of North Iroquois Avenue sometime July 18 to 20. Prospective buyers had been in the home.
19Two tires and rims valued at $2,000 were taken from a truck at Heiser Ford, 1700 W. Silver Spring Drive, before 9 a.m. on Sunday, July 20. An officer checking the lot found the truck on blocks with the back tires and rims missing.
20A man was seen grabbing four pairs of Ray Ban sunglasses valued at $920 and fleeing the Sunglass Hut, 490 W. Northshore Drive, at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 20.
21Five unlocked cars were entered but nothing taken in the 7000 block of North Navajo Avenue early morning Tuesday, July 22..
22A 41-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for drunken driving after he was seen weaving in traffic in the 7800 block of North Green Bay Road at 1:47 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22. He failed field sobriety tests and had a BAC of 0.22.
23A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving and speeding 57 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 1100 block of East Capitol Drive at 12:20 a.m. Friday, July 18. The man said he was speeding because he "had to urinate." He failed field sobriety tests and had a BAC of 0.16.
24A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, after another driver called 911 reporting an erratic driver in the 3500 block of North Summit Avenue at 6:50 p.m. on Friday, July 18. The woman could hardly stand and failed field sobriety tests. Her BAC was 0.21.
25A male and female, not yet 21, residences not released, were arrested for underage drinking after a witness reported a male, riding his bicycle, ran into a female as she walked in the 3500 block of North Oakland Avenue at 2 a.m. Tuesday, July 22. They both admitted drinking.
26A wallet and sunglasses valued at $380 were taken when left unattended on a bench at the Estabrook Skating Park, 4601 North Estabrook Parkway, before 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 22.
27A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting/obstruction after a report of two females fighting on East Shorewood Boulevard at North Maryland Avenue at 12:26 a.m. Wednesday, July 23. The women pulled each other's hair and used profane language.
28A Victoria Secret purse and contents including credit cards valued at over $100 was taken from a locked car in the 4500 block of North Estabrook Parkway about 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 24. A window was broken to gain entry causing about $200 damage.
29A male, age and residence not released, was issued a citation for harassment after sending an "inappropriate picture" to a resident in the 4900 block of North Anita Avenue on Monday, July 21.
30Two men, ages and residences not released, were arrested, one for driving under the influence and for driving with suspended registration, and the other for possession of 0.5 grams of marijuana in the 1200 block of East Henry Clay Street at 3 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22. The driver was taken for a blood draw.
31A resident called police after finding a car blocking her garage door and two other doors in the 4800 block of North Anita Avenue at 4:45 a.m. on Friday, July 25. The resident said she needed to get her car out in order to get to work. The car's owner, a female, did not have a driver's license and the car was towed.
32A baggie holding what turned out to be "cocaine base," total weight of 1 gram, was found on the ground at North Shoreland Avenue and East Chateau Place and turned over to police at 11:20 a.m. on Friday, July 25.
33A Trek mountain bike and bike equipment valued at $450 and about $10 in cash were taken from an unlocked garage and car in the 4900 block of Santa Monica Boulevard overnight July 24 or 25.
34A 2003 Dodge Caravan was taken from the 5500 block of North Diversey Boulevard between 4:45 and 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, was recovered in a parking lot in the 2800 block of West Custer Avenue that afternoon about 2 p.m.
35A resident reported that a live trap with two baby raccoons inside was taken from the 5200 block of North Hollywood Avenue between 11:30 p.m. July 25 and 8:20 a.m. July 26. Police had responded to a complaint about that trap from a resident at 9:45 p.m. on Friday, July 25, and found that it had been placed by a licensed trapper and there was no basis for the complaint.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded to 128 calls, 91 emergency medical and 37 fire/rescue, July 21 to July 27.
Firefighters were called to a smoldering hay bail in the middle of the archery field at Kletzsch Park, 6560 N. Milwaukee River Parkway, at 6:40 p.m. Sunday, July 27. A report states "the fire was intentionally set" perhaps by children in the area.
