The Shorewood Police Department is asking for help in finding a man or men who attacked three elderly people of Russian descent in the 1600 block of East River Park Court in two incidents over the past five months.
On March 21, a man walked up to an 81-year-old man and his 79-year-old wife and asked them if they were Russian. When they said yes, the suspect punched the man in the face, knocking him to the ground and hit him two or more times. He then sprayed the couple with an unknown substance that burned. The man was described as white, 25 to 30, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build.
On July 17, a similar incident occurred. A man walked up to an 84-year-old man and asked him if he was Russian. When the man said yes, the suspect struck him on the head and face causing pain and injury. The suspect was described as white, 25 to 30, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build and having reddish or blond curly hair.
If anyone has information regarding these incidents, call the Shorewood Police Department at (414) 847-2610.
