MILWAUKEE, WI – After competing against many of the strongest baseball players from Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, 11-year-old Yousef M. Friedman was selected by Amateur Baseball Report (ABR) scouts to showcase his skills on its Tri-State All-Star team this August during the United States Sports Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Tri-State All-Star Weekend in Bolingbrook, IL.
Friedman, a second baseman and pitcher on the Wisconsin RockHounds 11U Travel Baseball team, has played more than 25 games since April, currently has 55 plate appearances and is leading his team in batting with an average of.449. He currently has 33 assists and 14 put outs two months into the season.
As a member of the Tri-State All-Star team he will be one of 14 players from Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. His selection to the team will allow him to compete in a tournament with the best players at his age level from all three states. The event will identify players for the 2011 USSSA Junior All Regional Games in 2011.
Friedman began playing baseball at age seven and works individually with Coach Warren Smith, the varsity baseball coach at Oak Creek High School. He will be entering the sixth grade as a student at University School of Milwaukee.
