When Everyone In Wisconsin Helps, Everyone In Wisconsin Wins

Aug. 19, 2011

Statewide effort to raise more than $1,000,000, to support Wisconsin groups, soon to begin

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN – August 16, 2011 – The Wisconsin Gives Back event, beginning September 18th, 2011 and going through December 18th, 2011, is meant to bring the people of Wisconsin together for a common cause. Together, schools, charities, community nonprofits and residents state-wide, can help raise more than a million dollars to support the organizations that make Wisconsin what it is today.

“It’s a lot of money, it’s attainable and for a great cause that will only make this state an even better place to live,” says Jake Knox, Executive Director of Wisconsin Gives Back. “There are so many amazing organizations and groups that work every day to make a difference in the lives of others. And, that’s exactly why we started this event – to support those groups, those people and their programs with an easy way to make extra money to cover their costs and to keep their programs going strong. Plus, this is an easy way for Wisconsin residents to show their support and make a difference.”

Wisconsin Gives Back is a three-month, friendly competition between groups who will benefit from the fundraising sales of unique, 2012 Wisconsin Calendars filled with professional aerial photography, a Wisconsin road map, a tourism directory and 366 fun things to do throughout the state. People who visit www.wi-givesback.com anytime between September 18th and December 18th can purchase a calendar to directly support the Wisconsin group of their choice ($9 of every $15 sale goes to the group).

“Groups participating in the Wisconsin Gives Back event can do as much or as little as they like to promote their cause and raise money,” adds Knox. “Obviously, the more support a group can rally for themselves, the better off they’ll be in the end. And, since we’re offering incentives for calendars sold, groups can make even more money by reaching various benchmarks. We’ve got great prizes for those groups who really work to make a difference. The bottom line is that we want everyone to win!”

Groups interested in participating can sign-up online at www.wi-givesback.com to join the many others who’ve already gotten involved including, the Leroy Butler Foundation, The Greg Jennings Foundation, The Nick Collins Jump Start 4 Kids Foundation, The Tramon Williams Foundation, The Parenting Network, Orphan Animal Rescue, Meta House, Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, Make A Difference Wisconsin, Green Bay Southwest High School and many others. Group registration will close on September 10th. There is no cost for any group to register or participate.
