NEWS AND NOTES
Meeting notes: Our meeting last week took the form of the annual holiday tea. We saw guests Reed Felton, Gail Ritter, Carol Klose, and Pat Tyree, and we were happy to see long-absent members Bill Sturm, Dick Pietsch, and Tom Anstett. Dick's presence allowed President Taylor to present Dick with a pin and certificate for 55 years of service in the Club.
Happy dollars: Bill Sturm started with a dollar to say thanks to Warren Carity for help with the Pius Key Club when Bill was a senior at Pius. Rob Ritter paid a buck because he was happy to see Bill (and reminding us that Bill is a former Lt. Gov.) and Dick Pietsch. Dick Pietsch paid a dollar for the privilege of being with us. Bob Reinhardt let us know how happy he is that his daughter is graduating from nursing school. Tom Anstett was so happy to see everyone that he paid delinquent birthday and anniversary dollars. John Cable was happy to hear that his daughter decided to return from Chile in the spring. Dick Bachman paid a buck for one more year working with the food pantries. Dave Eppelsheimer noted with a dollar that he gave Francine a ring for Christmas 1973. Chuck Sturm paid for the privilege of telling a story about his office assistant and his spouse, the point of which was that the twain shall never meet. John Foley contributed a dollar in anticipation of an Austin son's visit for Christmas.
Flags: Ken Snyder presented Dick Bachman with a check for $1,000, courtesy of the WaterStone Bank Foundation, to help with all the repairs and replacements for the North Avenue flags.
Meetings: Tuesday noon, Mayfair Mall Community Room
