OPUS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ANNOUNCES ADDITION TO WISCONSIN REAL ESTATE TEAM

Sept. 28, 2012

Jerad Protaskey named real estate manager

The Wisconsin office of Opus Development Corporation (Opus) announced today that Jerad Protaskey will be joining Opus’ real estate team as real estate manager. In his new role, Protaskey will draw upon his nearly 10 years of experience on Opus’ construction team to manage commercial real estate development efforts, including market research, land analysis and selection, land purchase, lease negotiations and overall project development, marketing and execution.

“We’re always at work to ensure growth of both our design-build construction and our real estate development platforms,” said Julie Ledger, Vice President/General Manager of the Wisconsin Office of Opus Development Corporation. “I am confident that Jerad will be an excellent asset in showcasing and continuing the growth of our extensive real estate expertise.”

Protaskey joined Opus in 2003. As a LEED-accredited professional and a graduate of Marquette University with a degree in civil engineering, Protaskey has played an integral role in numerous high-profile projects at Opus. Protaskey’s experience included supervision duties on projects such as Northwestern Mutual phases I and II in Franklin, a 30,000-square-foot expansion to Bernina of America and a 52,000-square-foot expansion to the existing Weyco Group warehouse facility in Glendale. Protaskey also served as the project manager for Marquette University’s $85 million, 210,000-square-foot Law School and 105,000-square-foot underground parking facility.

Opus Development Corporation is one of the state’s leading full-service real estate development and design-build firms. Notable projects include Madison’s Alliant Energy World Headquarters, Waukesha’s Shoppes at Fox River, multiple buildings at Marquette University, including the new Law School and College of Engineering, Northwestern Mutual’s Franklin Campus, The Honey Creek Corporate Center, and Oakwood Crossing Business Center in Oak Creek.
