Celebrate Music In Our Schools Month With the School District of Shorewood

March 10, 2010

The National Association for Music Education has designated the month of March as “Music In Our Schools Month,” and the Shorewood Intermediate and High School Bands, Choirs and Orchestras are celebrating with a variety of musical activities. The following concerts are free and open to the public:

 

March 16: SIS/SHS Choir Concert at 7:00 pm at North Shore Presbyterian Church

March 18: Band Concert I (SHS Wind Ensemble & 8th Grade Band) at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium

March 23: Band Concert II (SHS Concert Band & 7th Grade Band) at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium

March 25: Jazz Ensemble Concert at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium

March 31: District Orchestra Festival at 7:00 pm in the Arena

 

Additionally, The Shorewood High School Jazz Ensemble kicks off the month-long observance with a performance at the Shorewood Senior Center, on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at 10:00 AM, and the SHS Wind Ensemble will participate in the UW-Milwaukee Concert Band Festival, in the Zelazo Center, on Monday, March 15, 2010, at 8:00 AM.

 

Our dedicated music department staff provide a musical experience that stays with students for the rest of their lives. These programs provide an opportunity for the public to celebrate the unique talents of our students. Come and join us for the Music In Our Schools month long celebration.
